Triple Bunk Beds
Buying a triple bunk bed is a practical option to consider if you have three children and only one bedroom for them all. The oldest two children should use the top two bunks with the smallest child on the bottom, to make sure no one falls off and gets hurt. Usually triple bunk beds can also be used as three single beds which would be helpful in the future if you should move to a larger house. Before buying, make sure that the unit can be broken down into the separate beds. A bunk bed can dramatically increase the living space in a small cramped bedroom.
Now a triple bunk bed that stacks up 1-2-3 may not be feasible to use in your home if the ceiling is not high enough. Another type of triple bunk bed combines the loft style with having two of the beds on top, intersecting into an āLā shape, and then underneath one of those is the third bed. You can even get one of these with a desk unit that has drawers built under the second top bed to be able to utilize your limited space even more.
Measure the space you have to put your bunk bed for three. These beds are also available with the two higher bunks being a twin size with the bottom bunk being a standard size bed. This is a good style to get if you have the room and can afford it. The bottom bed can also act as a sort of safety net if anyone falls off one of the top bunks.
When getting a triple bunk bed, make sure it is the best quality you can afford. With younger children climbing up and down the bed and bouncing around, you want to make sure it is durable and strongly built. Make sure the bed has railings or guard rails to prevent smaller children from falling off. These beds are usually constructed of wood such as oak, mahogany, maple, cherry and pine. Some come with metal frames instead. For smaller children, the standard size twin is sufficient. A larger twin or extra long twin is better for teens and adults.
Triple bunk beds are also a useful solution for college dorms and vacation houses where there are extra people but not extra space for them. Instead of having everyone laying all over the floor in sleeping bags, get a triple bunk bed. They also come in larger sizes than twin, such as three standard size mattresses.
